Personality

Lawful Evil in the Hassan sense: creed, hierarchy, and a clean kill. He is not chatty. He is a shadow that accepted a title by becoming death rather than by winning a numbered contest among the nineteen. Faldeus's True Assassin is professional silence with a rift where a face should be.

Story in Fate

True Assassin of Snowfield, contracted to Faldeus Dioland, is not one of the numbered nineteen Old Men of the Mountain. He became Hassan by becoming death's shadow after an encounter with the First Hassan. He hides in the world's shadow, outmaneuvers Enkidu's Presence Detection, and when the Saint Graph is finished he can still kill as the concept of death—Zabaniya: Meditative Sensitivity. The skull-mask tradition remains; the résumé of a named historical individual does not.

• Faldeus Dioland — Master; a player of the True side who contracted this rift rather than a numbered Hassan.
• First Hassan (King Hassan) — The Old Man whose meeting turned a man into death's shadow and a title.
